Lauren A. Beetle, a partner with the firm, concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate and business law. Described as a lawyer who “cares about getting it right”, Lauren’s sophisticated command of the law, depth of experience and meticulous attention to detail are a significant benefit she brings to each matter she handles. Among Lauren’s most noted characteristics as an attorney are her ability to manage multiple moving elements in complex commercial transactions and her passion for getting deals papered correctly and closed on time. She takes a proactive approach to handling transactions and providing business counseling advice to clients. Responsive in "real time" to client needs, Lauren has been called a “true deal lawyer” who is able to close a significant volume of transactions effectively and efficiently.
Lauren's real estate practice focuses on development, redevelopment, leasing and loan transactions. In particular, Lauren regularly represents private equity investors, apartment building owners and retail and industrial developers in acquisitions, sales and financings, and has significant experience handling Freddie Mac debt for multifamily projects. She also represents landlords and tenants in leasing matters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
As an experienced business law attorney, Lauren represents buyers and sellers in business asset and equity transactions, counsels clients on formation, organizational structure and legal governance matters and handles all forms of business related transactional work, particularly in the food and beverage industry. Lauren regularly negotiates joint venture and operating agreements, drafts supply, distribution, construction and service agreements, and prepares form commercial documents for businesses. She also represents national restaurant chains, shopping center developers, hotels and local business owners in liquor license transactions and regulatory matters in the State of New Jersey.
Lauren is a member of the Real Property Section of the American Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. She has written and co-authored articles on a variety of legal issues related to commercial real estate, leasing and business transactions. In 2013, Lauren was distinguished as a “New Leader of the Bar” by the New Jersey Law Journal.
Active in the community, Lauren previously served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Burlington County and Greater Trenton-Princeton, and as a member of the Head of School Advisory Board of Moorestown Friends School, of which she is an alum. Since 2016, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Girls Scouts Council of Central and Southern New Jersey, and was recently recognized as the 2018 Outstanding Woman of the Year in the category of Law for Burlington County.
Lauren graduated valedictorian of her class from Douglass College, Rutgers University (B.A., summa cum laude, 2000), and is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law-Camden (J.D., with high honors, 2003), where she was a notes and case notes editor for the Rutgers Law Journal. While in college, she interned with the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Prior to joining Hyland Levin, Lauren practiced law in the Real Estate Department at Ballard Spahr. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Lauren lives with her family in Riverton, New Jersey, and outside of her work enjoys gardening and visiting America's National Parks.
Handled a $315 million refinancing of six apartment buildings located in the mid-Atlantic region with Freddie Mac debt on a 30-day timetable
Represented a REIT in connection with a $109 million refinancing of two apartment complexes in Virginia
Represented a multi-family investor in the acquisition of a $90 million apartment property in New Jersey
Assisted with a $168 million acquisition by a private real estate fund of an apartment complex in Maryland from sellers in bankruptcy and a controlling lender
Serve as outside US real estate counsel to an international food manufacturer in connection with its real estate, leasing and construction needs
Represented a national franchise restaurant chain in connection with the transfer and disposition of liquor licenses in New Jersey
Represented the owner of a historic hotel located in Lambertville, New Jersey in the sale of its hotel business, real estate, liquor license and other assets
